Special Events and Fundraising
Stay at Home Ball - our Annual Personal Giving Campaign
Why spend money on a new dress or another pair of shoes, plus the cost of the dinner, when all that money can go directlly to NCJW to support the programs and projects we undertake? Once a year we ask our members to support us financially by giving generously to our STAY AT HOME BALL, an Annual Personal Giving Campaign.
Women In Power Luncheon and Boutique
An annual event at which NCJW recognizes the accomplishments of an outstanding woman who has contributed to promoting women and safeguarding their individual rights. An exciting boutique precedes the luncheon. The event is the highlight of the NCJW calendar.
Literary Luncheon
The program at the Literary Luncheon might vary from a guest author to a book review to a performer making a presentation on a book or books. Whatever the program, it is a delight and an opportunity to look at literature from a new vantage point.
Card and Game Parties
Several card parties, including Military Bridge, are held during the year. These events are open to members and non-members and are a source of funds for our community service projects.
Paid-up Membership Breakfast
A delightful morning of breakfast and a program, open to all Life Members and all Section members whose dues are in good standing.
Film Series
Showing a movie selected to be thought provoking and always related to the principles and mission statement of NCJW. Discussion following the showing of the movie relates the issues to current day public policy in Washington, DC or Tallahassee.
Reader’s Group
Book Discussions, led by members of the group, are held the first Monday of the month.
Women’s Seder
Held about two weeks before Passover, the Women's Seder uses a Haggadah written by our members that incorporates readings, song and dance, and presents the Exodus story with a woman's eye. The evening is always special, and made more so by the participation of members' husbands as waiters.
Installation of Officers and Volunteer Recognition
NCJW is so blessed to have many volunteers who participate in our community service projects, make our programs successful, and help in the administration of the Section. This event recognizes their efforts, and is the perfect setting for installing the officers who will lead the Section for the coming year.
